Yesterday’s Review
0.75pt e/way Nighttime (110) – The first thing that needs to be said is that the winning times of the first five races were a lot faster than the advertised going given as Soft. The ground started to open up for the final three races. The anticipation of a truly run race with a few front runners signed up never materialised with Ryan Moore aboard the favourite Puerto Rico accepting that he wasn’t going to get near the lead early on. Hankelow (112) enjoyed a dream trip round on the front end with zero pressure while the selection wouldn’t relax off the slow pace from the rear. He made some headway in the home straight but the damage was done early doors as he could only manage sixth place beaten 3 lengths.
0.5pt win Komorebi (112) – A solid performance from the selection to finish second beaten a length considering his wide draw in stall nine. The winner Rayif (113) enjoyed the perfect trip round in stall one and William Buick’s mount could not make up the 3 lengths defecit he found himself off the winner from early on.
NOTE: I had notebooked a few French horses with irishracing.com from March and April and was wondering why over the past 42 days I wasn’t receiving an e-mail for when they were running. Having notebooked Sabroso and Paolini from the 29th March at Saint Cloud I was more than surprised to see them running at Longchamp yesterday with no e-mails of their participation. Both horses won which I was unawares as to their participation at the time the blog was written. It turns out although you can notebook French horses on the website you will not receive e-mails of when they will be running. A waste of time having that option available on their website…..I would recommend putting your French horses into the Attheraces tracker going forward.
