Saturday’s Review
0.75pt e/way Collecting Coin (115) – The strongest run race on the card and the selection put in a career best on the clock. The selection raced in touch of the leaders and had every chance in the home straight but was outsped in the final furlong. He could only manage fifth beaten a length and a quarter. He does have a round action and might prefer slower conditions. It was a fine effort to hit the frame. Result 5th 8/1 adv…6/1f SP.
0.75pt e/way Sindagan (115) – The selection was slowly away and raced in rear. He travelled into the race very nicely and was keeping on all the way to the line to finish in third place just beaten a length. He needs a strongly run race and won’t always get these conditions going forward. Result 3rd 10/1 adv…12/1 SP.
0.75pt e/way Green Impact (104) – The selection raced in midfield and and soon as he was asked to find another gear in the home straight he went backwards. The race was run to suit the prominent racers, but this was very disappointing considering his fine course record….
0.75pt e/way Fallen Angel (108) – James Doyle’s mount raced prominently, as she usually does, but was outpaced in the home straight and looked for all money like she was going to finish out the back of the television. Remarkably, she battled back to grasp third place on the line. A valiant effort but she looks a shell of the horse she was. Result 3rd 10/1 adv…8/1 SP.
0.75pt e/way Checkandchallenge (103) – The selection had to be given reminders to get involved early doors and despite making some headway over two furlongs from home had nothing to give in the final furlong. He weakened into 12th place beaten 9 lengths and looks a long way from his previous best.
0.75pt e/way Tony Montana (106) – A slowly run affair which wouldn’t have suited the selection. He raced in midfield and was denied a clear run when the race was hotting up. He kept on into 4th place just beaten a length and a half and should be able to find a race going forward. Result 4th 8/1 adv…8/1 SP.
1pt e/way Aviatrice (99) – The selection raced in midfield and despite making headway over a furlong from home couldn’t find an extra gear in the final furlong. She came home in 8th place beaten 3.5 lengths. This was disappointing considering her two latest performances…
Sunday’s Review
1.5pts e/way Cover Up (108) – The selection never travelled and was being pumped along over two furlongs from home. He was, inexplicably switched to the far side of the track as the first two home raced on the nearside rail. He came home in ninth place beaten 5.75 lengths, and this was very disappointing. Perhaps better will be seen when he is drawn more kindly, but he looks wanting at the top level.
1.5pts e/way Dr Rascal (86) – The selection never looked at home in the conditions, and although stuck on the rail for a lot of the race he never travelled in these softer conditions. It will be interesting to see if he can bounce back on better going.
1pt e/way Folsom Blues (95) – This is a race to treat with caution as the selection looked to relish the conditions, and his rivals looked all at sea in them. Nevertheless, he travelled like a dream on the outside and was toying with his opposition before bolting up by 6 lengths. He looks one to stay onside of while conditions are on the slow side going forward. Result 1st 12/1 adv…11/2 SP.
