0.75pt e/way Cowardofthecounty (94) – A disappointing effort from connections. I mentioned that the horse needed an aggressive ride from the gates but the jockey was happy to sit last in a slowly run race. Yes, the horse keeps plenty back for himself, but the way the horse was ridden, and the pace of the race did not suit.

Today’s Advice

Shelbourne (8f Hcap) – All the early money for tonight’s (7.00) Kempton has been for last time out winner Beyond Words. She won nicely at Southwell and she may still be ahead of the handicapper. The selection is still relatively lightly raced but appears a bit less straightforward. His last two efforts over seven furlongs have been solid enough at Lingfield and Chelmsford finishing third and fourth respectively while keeping on at the finish. The step up to a mile looks the right option considering his dam Rosamaria has placed over this distance. He looks a little overpriced  in the market providing he puts his best foot forward tonight.
