Today’s Advice
Nibras Rainbow (8f Hcap) – This four-year-old has been performing consistently lately, and his win over Shoot To Kill from stall sixteen at Killarney reads well in the context of today’s (2.00) Listowel. On that occasion he raced prominently, and won by a half a length having to be switched to get a run at the business end of the race. He is better drawn today in stall four, and meets the same rival on four pounds better terms. He performed well recently at Roscommon from a wide draw again, and had to use up plenty of petrol to get a positon early on over the extended seven furlongs. A return to the mile from today’s better draw should see him in a better light.
We’re Reunited (5f 21y Hcap) – The re-application of blinkers might spark a return to form for this seven-year-old for tonight’s (6.30) Wolverhampton following two below par efforts at Bath. His effort behind Suanni in July, over course and distance, reads very well both on the clock and on form when compared to tonight’s rivals. He may be simply out of form at the minute, but he looks worth chancing at the current prices in what looks a weak race.
Theriverrunsdeep (6f Hcap) – The return to six furlongs should suit this Seamus O’Donnell trained veteran who was noted making decent headway last time out over the minimum trip at Navan when finishing in fifth place. He had been a bit hit and miss prior to his runaway win last month at Naas, also over the minimum trip, which resulted in a ten pound rise in the handicap. Regular partner Wesley Joyce takes the ride again for tonight’s (6.45) Fairyhouse, and while there is a chance that he may not build on these two fine recent efforts he is at the right end of the market for a speculative interest.
Northstead Gardens (9f 104y Hcap) – Tonight’s (7.00) Wolverhampton looks a real low grade (0-52) handicap, and the favourite Blacklion looks to hold a solid chance on the clock following his win over the extended seven furlongs round here two weeks ago. The selection looked in need of a step up in trip last time out when staying on over the extended mile behind Cuban Harry at this venue. She is still lightly raced, and has performed well the last two times including a keeping on fourth place at Lingfield over the mile. She looks worth an interest against the favourite at the prices on offer, considering the favourite is stepping up well over two furlongs in trip.
