Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Drazinda (103) – The selection failed to match her previous form from over two weeks ago which was the worry beforehand. She raced keen in rear and despite making headway over a furlong from home failed to quicken again. She looked a bit of value beforehand at 25/1 and went off at 9.4/1.
1pt win Kosuma (106) – Another step forward on the clock from the selection but she was put in her place easily by the winner Senorita Bonita (111), who had no problem with the ground, which was a lot faster than advertised on the straight course. We started with 27mm of rain in the 7 days before the meeting. The advertised ground was Collant (Sticky)(4.5) which is between Heavy and Very Soft. With a drying day it moves to Very Soft (3.8). Then we are told that Very Soft in France is the equivalent of Good to Soft in the UK by the French representative at the track. The winner clocks 1.08.79 for 6f on a supposedly Very Soft surface. We can see how judging the going in French Racing is very inconclusive beforehand and will lead a lot of punters to thinking twice about getting involved over there again.
1pt win Soul Love (110) – The selection raced prominently and took up the running over a furlong from home. She was just worried out things at the finish by a horse she beat easily over course and distance last time out. Unlucky.
