Today’s Advice
BUSBY (9f 104y Hcap) – The application of a first-time visor back in December enabled this Philip Kirby trained gelding to find his way back to the winner’s enclosure for the first time in two years. On that occasion he recorded a fast winning time at Southwell coming home three quarters of a length ahead of Come On John over the extended twelve furlongs. He hasn’t reproduced that performance in three races since, but has performed with credit finishing a close second in all three races. As a former course and distance winner the drop back to today’s extended nine furlongs for the (7.00) Wolverhampton should suit him well. He likes to get on with things from the front, and with little opposition for the lead in tonight’s contest, he should enjoy a hassle-free trip. Apprentice Aiden Brookes takes a valuable three pounds off his back, and he was won on board for his latest win. Quick Away looks the main danger, and she should appreciate the step up in trip. However, if Aiden can get the fractions right he should have enough speed to hold her off.
