0.75pt e/way Aeroinvincible (107) – Another solid performance from the selection in making the frame on the step up in class. Unfortunately, Harold Win (105) wanted a piece of the lead and this forced Andrea Atzeni’s mount to go a stride faster than he probably wanted. He kept on all the way to the line to be beaten just under a length in the end. Result 4th 4/1 adv…59/10 SP.
0.5pt e/way Royal Champion (107) – The slowest race on the card which resulted in the selection racing a bit too keen in behind the leader. He found a lot less than expected when asked to quicken in the home straight failing to make the places by a length and a quarter. A valiant fourth place but at the highest level he will need to settle better to trouble the very best and overall he was below his recent form.
1pt e/way Mighty Masts (109) – A solid enough effort from the selection in making the frame as he put in the fastest final furlong of the first five home. He raced in midfield and kept on all the way to the line to finish in third place beaten just over 2 lengths. His racing style does make things difficult for himself when they don’t go overly fast up front. Result 3rd 11/2 adv…3/1 SP.
0.75pt e/way Ashen (102) – A fine ride by Lauren Young to pass ten horses in the race considering the first two home raced up front. The price looked wrong in the early betting and so it proved as the four-year-old kept on well from the rear to snatch the bronze medal. There should be a little race in him going forward. Result 3rd 33/1, 25/1 adv…12/1 SP.
