Due Date (6f 20y) – Charlie Wallis has revitalised this horse since acquiring him from the Clive Cox yard last September. Once rated as high as 70 by the handicapper, he has really struck form since the visor has been applied, and visited the winner’s enclosure over six furlongs at Chelmsford just eighteen days ago. He had shown signs of a return to form the time before from a wide draw over the same C&D, and recorded a career best speed figure of (103) carrying 9st 9lbs to victory off a handicap mark of just 50. He performed with credit off a mark of 55 last time out over Kempton’s sharp five furlongs from another wide draw, and should appreciate the return to further for tonight’s (8.00) Wolverhampton. Rated just a pound higher now than his recent win he looks worth chancing that he can be just as effective on Tapeta. He was beaten just a neck from a handicap mark of 67 last May over this C&D, so there should be no problem with the surface. He looks worth a small interest at the prices on offer.
