Yesterday’s Review

0.75pt e/way Riot (101) – A race that was not run to suit as Zip set slow enough fractions out in front. I still would have liked to see a bit more from him at the finish. Billy Mill (105) who has been selected in the past by this column, showed that he is in fine form at the moment. A 16/1 starting price probably reflects punters faith in his consistency. Condolences to connections of Anthem National who was fatally injured during the race.

0.75pt e/way Pepsi Cat (107) – Another consistent display from the mare who finished her race out well from midfield to take third place. Her form ties in well with the runner-up Zarzyni from the Cover Up race last month. Result 3rd 6/1 adv…5/1 SP.

1pt e/w Castan (109) – A pleasing result for punters who factor weather conditions into their form calculations. Andrew Breslin’s three pound allowance certainly helped the horse’s cause in the finish. Castan’s prominent racing style suited how the race developed with just Match Play looking like the only front runner on paper. Jenever deserve’s a worthy mention for his performance on the night, sticking to his task after not getting the clearest of runs. Unfortunately, early shows of 20/1 disappeared very quickly for the selection as the article was being written. Result 1st 10/1 adv…10/1 SP.
