Starsoftheclock Monday 5th October 2026 Selections And Review

5th October, 2026 @ 9:24am

Yesterday’s Review

1pt e/way Rb Kingmaker (65) – The slow pace suited the favourite who put his superior turn of foot to good use passing every opponent in the final two furlongs to win by three quarters of a length. The selection raced in rear and failed to find another gear when asked to quicken in the final furlong coming home in 5th place beaten 2 lengths.

1pt e/way Chdiah (66) – The selection quickened nicely from the rear to put herself in the mix for the win but just like last year was beaten the narrowest of margins by Hajmah once again. Result 3rd 5/1 adv…5/1 SP.

1pt e/way Sindagan (95) – I have to admit to getting caught out by the advertised going for this meeting as it was Yielding to Soft when I first looked.  I missed the fact that there was 20mm of rain on Friday when only 6-8mm was forecast, and the going was changed to Soft (Soft to Heavy in places) Saturday morning, and finally Soft on race day. The winning times on the day were more like Very Soft and despite winning his maiden on a Soft to Heavy surface at Galway the selection is much better on Good going. He raced in rear and never looked dangerous coming home in 9th place beaten 11 lengths. A performance to put a line through.

1pt e/way Kalpana (112) – The selection was under pressure early on to find a decent position and had dropped to 10th place with 3 furlongs to go. She managed to keep on into 5th place, but came up 2 lengths short of making the frame. It looked like her tough race in the Yorkshire Oaks had caught up with her and this was certainly not the mare that put Calandagan away at Ascot in the King George.
