Yesterday’s Review

0.75pt e/way Celtic Prince (104) – A fine display from the winner Kabirkhan (111) who came into the race unexposed having previously plied his trade in Kazakhstan and Russia. There was always a chance that we wouldn’t see the best of the selection following his big effort on the clock on seasonal debut. I would have expected him to have run about three to four lengths per mile faster, but it was still a decent effort to make the frame at such a big price for those who played late. Result 4th 9/1 adv…20/1 SP.

1pt e/way Gobi Star (104) – A first win for Free Solo (106) in over a year, and it would have been an interesting finish had the selection not met trouble in running. Apprentice jockey Jack Kearney may have had a clearer passage in the home straight had he tracked Exquisite Acclaim. Unfortunately, he found trouble at a crucial time, and did well to make the frame in the end. Result 4th 9/2 adv…9/2 SP.

1pt e/way Zahee (100) – A solid effort from the selection who could have done with more cover entering the home straight. He needs everything to go right for him, but there should be a win in this grade around the corner. Result 3rd 11/2 adv…17/2 SP Rule 4 5p.

0.75pt e/way Gatsby Cap (101) – A massive drift in the market on the selection who was given a fine ride by jockey Nathan Crosse. The signs were there beforehand that he was being overlooked by the market, and it was another boost for clock watchers just taking into his account his speed figure alone from the last day. Result 1st 14/1 adv…28/1 SP.
