Today’s Advice

NEVER SO BRAVE (8f Gp1) – Short price favourite Field Of Gold returns from an 80 day break having finished lame last time out in the Sussex Stakes at Goodwood. Reportedly working very well, at the prices I will let him pass considering his latest effort.

Rosallion looks a shade difficult to win with this season. Sean Levey came with a winning run in the Queen Anne at Royal Ascot before looking to get a bit lonely in front and getting headed near the line by Docklands. He failed by a short head with a late run in the Prix Du Moulin and the question is will he be able to put his head in front at the right time today.

The selection has already beaten Sean Levey’s mount last time out at York over seven furlongs when taking the Group 1 City Of York Stakes by a half length from Lake Forest when recording a (117) timefigure. He is unbeaten in three races since moving from Sir Michael Stoute’s yard to Andrew Balding, and has a Group 2 course win over the round mile to his name. He usually travels in midfield to rear and if the top two are not on their A game he looks a solid candidate for this (3.25) Ascot.

DELACROIX (9f 212y Gp 1) – The general consensus for the (4.05) Ascot is that Obudsman was inconvenienced by his trip in the Coral Eclipse at Sandown when beaten a neck by the selection. With pacemaker Devil’s Advocate in the field today the favourite should have no excuses. At the prices on offer I am happy to let him win at a shade above odds on.

The selection recorded a career best (118) timefigure in the Champion Stakes at Leopardstown when finishing three quarters of a length ahead of Anmaat. He was below form following a 46 day break in the Juddmonte International when beaten three and a half lengths by the favourite, and it will be interesting to see if he can build on his latest win. He looks the right price for an each way interest.

QUEUE DOS (6f 20y Hcp) – Trainer Stan Moore has been doing sterling work with this three-year-old filly and while she is stepping up in class for today’s (4.29) Wolverhampton it should be noted that she is 3-3 at today’s venue. Her latest victory over the extended seven furlongs was a career best (109) timefigure and she has really improved since the application of blinkers.

With a course and distance win already on her record already she looks worth an interest from a decent draw in stall two. William Cox is a slightly unexpected booking considering he has a 0-18 record when riding for the stable. With just 10 winners this season from 199 rides (5%) this consistent filly should give him a nice spin round.
