GOLDEN RAINBOW (5f Class 5 Hcap) – This six-year-old gelding had been quiet before finishing a solid third last time out over course and distance behind Castan in a Class 5 handicap. He raced prominently that night alongside the winner before weakening in the finish. The handicapper has dropped him a pound for that effort, leaving him a similar amount above his last winning handicap mark. He went without his usual visor on that occasion, and connections have reapplied the headgear which should hopefully make him that bit sharper. Regular pilot Kaiya Frasier takes a handy three pounds off again, and he has been in decent form this year with ten winners already on the board. Everything looks in place for a solid performance. Two of tonight’s rivals, Dark Kestrel and Above, finished behind him last time out, and hopefully he can hold them again. Other dangers include Filly One who needs to bounce back to form following a disappointing effort at Southwell last time out, and Frank The Spark who finished a decent second over course and distance last time out behind Ganesha.
