Yesterday’s Review

0.75pt e/way Rousing Encore (97) – Conditions were much faster early on in the card than advertised with the winning time of the selection’s race just 19 lengths per mile slower than standard. Not much heavy going in that winning time. That brought a lot more contestants into the contest than expected. The selection raced keenly early on and when asked for an effort at halfway found very little. He trailed home in 11th place beaten 9 lengths. A disappointing performance.

0.5pt e/way Aberama Gold (101) – The selection looked dangerous over two furlongs from home as he loomed up beside the leaders. Unfortunately, he found less than expected but did still manage to make the frame. he can win off his mark going forward. Result 4th 18/1 adv…22/1 SP.

0.5pt e/way Queue Dos (103) – The selection became upset in the stalls and reared before being slowly away. She made some headway in the home straight while not getting the clearest of runs and kept on to the line. A decent return in 5th place beaten just 2 lengths after four months off and she should be winning round here very soon.

Today’s Advice

PROSPERITAS (7f Hcap) – With the ground described as Heavy, with rain forecast for the early afternoon, conditions should be very much like a bog by the time the final race on the card comes around and that should suit the selection who has already won twice on a Heavy surface. He won a division of this race last year by 2.75 lengths from another mudlark in On The River and it was noticeable how he was able to quicken through conditions at the business end of the race while his opponents looked to be toiling. Rated just 4lb higher for today’s (5.05) Doncaster he caught the eye on seasonal debut last time out when not getting a clear run through in 4th place behind impressive winner Luansobe having raced keenly early on. He looks a solid proposition for today’s contest.
