Yesterday’s Review

1pt e/w Madame Christine (88) – A slowly run race in which three of the first five, when the positions settled, filled three of the first four positions home. An error not to make more use of the filly the way the race developed, but it was excellent tactics from Ryan Sexton (who rode a treble on the day) to get across from stall (12) and take control of the race to suit himself. The selection was gambled on from 20/1 into 12/1, but it would be best to put a line through this effort. Luke Morris reported that the filly raced too keen. The George Boughey trained Gloves was the big eyecatcher in the race who finished best of all in second place having been last turning in.

1pt e/way Stormy Jenn (83) – Another slowly run race which didn’t suit the selection unfortunately. Declan McDonagh’s mount raced too keenly, and she was eased when her chance was gone. The race was run to suit the leaders whereby the first two at the three furlong pole filled two of the first three places at the finish. Miss Paloma 20/1 and Unterberg 25/1 were the two involved, finishing first and third respectively. The jury is still out on the selection’s suitability for the all-weather.

Today’s Advice

Miss Bluebelle (9f 104y Hcap) – A drop back in trip from the extended twelve furlongs looks a positive move from connections of this filly for tonight’s (6.15) Wolverhampton. She may have just needed her last run following a 40 day break. On that occasion she made the running before weakening over a furlong from home when finishing fourth beaten 6 1/2 lengths behind the shock 50/1 winner Met Office. It is her previous C&D performance when finishing a half length second behind War In Heaven (who has since gone on to win another five races) which reads best. With not much pace in tonight’s race, it is hoped this prominent racer can get a nice position out in front and hopefully lead the rest of the field home.
