1pt win Welcome Dream (107) – A fine display from the selection who just failed by a short head to make all the running. He performed exactly as expected but was unlucky to find the winner able to put up a career best under a determined Silvestre De Sousa.
1pt e/way Cloud Seeker (103) – Another solid performance from Callum Shepherd’s mount who just found things happening a bit too quick back over nine furlongs. He stayed on well to finish second beaten 3.25 lengths, having raced prominently, after not getting a clear run in the home straight. A step back up to ten or even twelve furlongs should see him in the winner’s enclosure soon. Result 2nd 8/1 adv…7/1 SP (Rule 4 10p)
2pts win Lino Padrino (97) – A bitterly disappointing display from the selection who showed no early pace as expected and struggled to close down a much tougher group of horses this time. He eventually came home in fourth place ten lengths behind the winner. It would be no surprise if he failed to reproduce his debut effort going forward.
1pt win Tonal (107) – Another victory for this likeable type despite the 6lb rise in the weights. He tracked the front runners and led inside the final furlong to win by 1.5 lengths. There should be another win or two for connections going forward. Result 1st 11/4 adv…3/1 SP.
Today’s Advice
ZF ALMUZN (7f PA 0-2) The (2.10) Riyadh sees short price favourite Shahed Goodah try to build on his recent course and distance second place finish behind Anouar when recording a (41) timefigure eight days ago. The previous form had been weak to say the least and I was happy to look for a value alternative.
The selection has won over today’s course and distance in the past, and won nicely last time out over the mile fifteen days ago while recording a (50) timefigure. His previous form behind Umran also has a solid look to it and while the mile would be an ideal trip for him he had his race won a fair distance out last time out.
On a quiet day for my way of betting he looked a bit of value at the available odds which we are getting because of the distance of today’s race.
