Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Nikovo (97) – The selection was kicked before the start. He was also hampered in his run three furlongs out when the pace was quickening, something that happens too often for my liking with Paul Mulrennan’s mounts at Newcastle. He kept on well at the finish in sixth place, and is still one to keep an eye on.
0.5pt e/way Pals Battalion (109) – A career best on the clock from the winner who looks like he is really starting to get his act together. Despite not getting the clearest of runs two furlongs out, he was still able to quicken up and reel in the prominent racing The Ridler. He shouldn’t go up too much for this, and as long as there is some pace to aim at he should continue to perform well. Result 1st 11/2 adv…4/1 SP.
0.5pt e/way Pink Oxalis (98) – James Ryan’s mount travelled nicely throughout the race, but looked to find the extra furlong beyond her. A drop back to seven furlongs should see her in with a better chance. Result 4th 5/1, 4/1 adv…4/1JF SP.
