Yesterday’s Review
A reminder that race fitness and reproducing form when headgear is involved are factors not to be taken lightly once again….
1pt win Bahr Alenaya (81) – The selection was never at the races having got behind early on and plodded home in tenth place over 15 lengths behind the winner. A reminder that selecting horses that are returning to the track following 7 week breaks has it’s own pitfalls and is usually best avoided…
1pt e/way Mahbook (88) – The application of first time blinkers and a drop back to six furlongs saw the selection use up too much energy early on and left little for the finish having got involved in a pace duel with the unplaced Almassyon (94). He weakened into seventh place beaten 8.5 lengths. First time blinkers is an angle I usually avoid and it was a wrong decision to get involved on this occasion.
2pts win Feelings (99) – The selection failed to match his (104) timefigure from last time out while sporting blinkers for the second time. The writing was on the wall when he struggled to get past the 35 rated Alderea and the winner swept by in the final furlong eventually having 2.5 lengths to spare at the line. Nadian (101) made a decent leap forward on the clock improving seven lengths per mile from his previous form.
