Yesterday’s Review

0.5pt e/way No Knee Never (105) – Another solid effort from the selection on the clock. Unfortunately, he didn’t show his usual early pace and ended up a bit wider and further back than ideal. He made some headway from the rear over a furlong out but could only manage fifth place beaten 3.75 lengths. The strong pace suited the hold up horses and the winner Camera Shy (109) produced a career best performance on the clock having raced in midfield. A drop back into Class 6 should suit the selection better.

1pt win Sports Coach (105) – It was right to take on the favourite at the time of writing as the selection stepped forward from his eye-catching debut to record a 1.25 length victory. The pace wasn’t overly fast but it was enough for the five-year-old to come through from the rear and sweep by to lead inside the final furlong. He has been rated much higher in the past and there should be plenty more fun ahead for connections this coming season. Result 1st 11/4 adv….9/4 jf SP.

Today’s Advice

RIDING TOGETHER (7f Hcap) – The (9.45) Sha Tin looks an interesting contest from a pace angle as there doesn’t seem to be much signed up on paper. The selection made all from stall 13 last time out under a superb ride from Irish jockey Dylan Brown McMonagle and from a better draw in stall 9 he might be able to dictate matter again this morning. His only real challenge for the lead looks to be from stall 10 next door in Do You Just but he looks like more of a prominent racer than an out and out front runner.

The favourite Ghorgan has plenty of ability but looks a tricky one to catch right and at the prices on offer I am happy to have a small interest in the five-year-old under the young improving pilot.

ORANDI (8f Hcap) – The (4.20) Curragh looks a competitive contest, as it usually is, for the Irish Lincolnshire over the mile. The selection took this race last year from a 6lb lower mark and he looks the type to go best fresh. On that occasion he travelled well in the rear on the soft going and had to navigate his way through plenty of traffic before coming home just under a length clear of Cortez Bay. He improved on that performance on the clock at the Galway Festival in July when finishing in third place behind Dunum while recording a massive (115) timefigure on a yielding surface from a mark 3lbs higher than todays. The booking of Ryan Moore is a big plus for today’s contest and although his price is where it should be he looks worth an interest to repeat last year’s victory.
