Starsoftheclock Sunday 19th April 2026 Selections And Review

Yesterday’s Review

0.5pt e/way It’sneverjustone (102) – A similar performance on the clock to his Doncaster effort. The selection had every chance in the home straight but was beaten fair and square by the front three. Better should be seen from him in the summer months going by last year’s form. Result 4th 6/1 adv…Rule 4 25p.

1pt win Kokanee (101) – A fine front-running ride from Ali Rawlinson aboard the winner who steadied the pace down mid-race heading into the home turn before quickening away nicely in the home straight. The selection couldn’t match his seasonal debut despite being well backed into 9/4 favourite and it looks like this race came too soon for him in a race not run to suit and he would probably prefer a stiffer finish going forward.

Today’s Advice

ARMOUR WAR EAGLE (6f Hcap) – This six-year-old has been performing well in Class 3 contests on turf lately from wide draws despite the form figures. He has had to race from the rear in his latest two efforts due to bad draws but was keeping on well to the line from impossible positions. His best form has been on the dirt this season though and a reproduction of his second place finish behind Aurora Patch back in February should see him go close in this morning’s (9.10) Sha Tin. Karis Teetan knows him well having been on board for his recent dirt performances and he drops into a Class 4 contest for the first time in his life. He has an advantageous draw in stall 1 and providing he can enjoy a decent trip he looks the one they all have to beat.
