Starsoftheclock Sunday 1st March 2026 Selections And Review

Yesterday’s Review

1pt e/way Tap Leader (108) – A solid enough performance to make the frame from the selection who raced in touch of the leaders. Unfortunately, he found all sorts of trouble under Pat Dobbs and would have been a clear second best with a more efficient ride. Result 3rd 11/2 adv…11/2 SP.

0.5pt e/way Telemark (105) – A race that revolved around the favourite Commissioner King and his shocking performance last time out. It is now clear from the data that the stable did not have the horse fit for his previous race as he was coming back from a 35 day break. He was ready to do his best today and recorded a (115) timefigure. This shows that official weighing of horses is badly needed in Meydan and I noticed a similar situation with Imperial Emperor last season who was hammered by Walk Of Stars following a 42 day break. This stable is one to be wary of with horses coming back from breaks…The selection could only manage fourth having lost his position during the run but stayed on well at the finish some 9.75 lengths off the winner.

0.5pt e/way King Gold (105) – The selection raced more prominent than usual but also lost his position over two furlongs from home before plodding into fifth. A long way off his previous best form.

1pt e/way Pacific Avenue (110) – A fine performance from the selection who found one too strong at the finish. He raced in midfield and took up the running over a furlong from home before giving best by a length to the eventual winner. The time was strong and he should provide connections with a win soon enough. Result 2nd 7/1, 13/2 adv…8/1 SP.

1pt win Saytarr (108) – The selection did everything he had promised on the clock and more as he travelled best from the rear and took up the running over a furlong from home before getting the better of his nearest pursuer by 2.25 lengths. He looks like a nice improving type and there should be another win or two in him going forward. Result 1st 11/4, 5/2 adv…5/2f SP.
