Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Enola Grey (92) – As feared the Richard Fahey trained Zip (97) was allowed to dictate a steady pace, which didn’t suit those held up (including the selection who had to be switched to the near side rail early on). There should be another win in her when she gets a stronger pace to aim at.
0.5pt e/way Catch Cunningham (102) – Not the pace meltdown that looked likely beforehand with the first five home racing in the first six positions. Despite this it must be said that the response from the selection when asked to find another gear was very tame. The type that needs too many things to fall right for him on the day.
1pt e/way Novak (97) – Despite the strong form of the selection heading into the race he managed to put in a shocking performance considering he hadn’t been out of the first two places in his last four races. His jockey, Tommie Jakes, could never get him to relax early on as he raced too keen. When asked for an effort at the business end there was no response. This was obviously one race too many being his third race in sixteen days. The ride given to King’s School looked very poorly judged, and he really should have won the race.
