2pts win Commissioner King (110) – The selection was unable to complete the straightforward task of repeating his previous Burj Nahar Group 3 win as he hung out right during the early part of the race before being put under pressure by his own stablemate World Record (98). The damage was done early doors and he was a sitting duck for Banishing (113) in the home straight. A five length inferior performance to his latest victory despite being backed from 2/1 into 6/4f.
1pt e/way Whitcombe Rockstar (112) – A solid enough performance from the selection to secure the silver medal but the response when asked to quicken from the rear was below his course best this time and he was made to look slow coming home 3 lengths behind the younger winner. Result 2nd 6/1 adv…7/2 SP.
1pt e/way Eternal Force (106) – A performance that was well off his emphatic victory from Haydock last season. Cieren Fallon’s mount made some headway from two furlongs out but hung left when asked to find another gear inside the final furlong eventually coming home in seventh place just under three lengths behind the winner. He is obviously not an early season type just yet.
1pt e/way Fort George (114) – A decent enough performance on the clock from the selection considering he was given a very poor ride from Kieran Shoemark. The selection raced three wide with no cover for some reason and it was bizarre to see the rider looking behind after taking that position early in the race. The favourite Ombudsman (120) was on his A game today but Connor Beasley showed what could have been achieved with a proper ride aboard 50/1 outsider Andreas Vesalius who finished in third. A performance to put a line through…
