Starsoftheclock Sunday 3rd November 2024 Selections And Review

3rd November, 2024 @ 9:53am

Yesterday’s Review

0.75pt e/way Intervention (104) – Not one of the selection’s better efforts, and more speed from the stalls looked needed. Jason Watson had his mount positioned ninth of twelve during the race, and the first four home all raced more prominently. There should be another win in him when he breaks better from the stalls.

Today’s Advice

Layfayette (12f Lst) – This seven-year-old gelding has been been performing well of late having been placed in a Group 3 at Ascot, and most recently finishing runner-up in a Listed race at Leopadstown. He has had a light back-end campaign this year, and should be fresher than most of his opposition for today’s (3.35) Curragh. He is a hold-up performer, and we will be hoping for a decent pace from the Aidan O’Brien front-runners Andromeda and Iseult of Ireland. Connections have switched from blinkers to cheekpieces for today’s contest, which he has had a lot of success with when wearing in the past. The short-priced favourite Hamish is a proven Group 3 winner, and performed with credit beaten a half length behind Goliath in a Group 2 at Longchamp. At the prices I am happy to having a sporting interest on Colin Keane’s mount.
