1pt win Dan Attack (104)/ 0.5pt e/way Free Pony (101) – It was right to take on the short priced favourite Rewarding Buddy who finished unplaced. The front runners enjoyed a healthy advantage on the hold up performers and the pace was strong enough to ensure a proper test. Dan Attack was 9.5 lengths off the lead at the 4 pole and 10.75 lengths off the lead at the 2 pole, too far back. He finished one of the best in the field to go down by a neck to the winner but his lack of early pace proved too much to overcome. Free Pony was described as being moody in the parade ring and he put in a laboured performance in the home straight to come home in seventh place having raced from the rear.
