Today’s Advice
Bits And Bobs (7f 14y Hcap) – This three-year-old’s form has been a bit hit and miss since a win on his career debut for Andrew Balding last summer. Once rated as high as 82 by the handicapper, he now finds himself racing off a competive mark fifteen pounds lower for tonight’s (7.30) Southwell. His fifth place behind Commander Crouch over course and distance last September, when trained by his current trainer Jamie Osborne, reads very well on the clock when compared to tonight’s rivals. He struggled to reproduce that form afterwards, and it was only with the application of blinkers that he showed his true colours. He has finished close up behind one of tonight’s rivals Silver Trumpet twice last month at Lingfield and Kempton, just a head behind on the most recent. The blinkers are back on tonight following a below par effort at Newcastle without them. He will need luck in running from his draw in stall eleven, and hopefully there will be enough pace on from prominent racers Etihad Rail, Mullins Beach and Solar Power to help him find a decent position. He looks a little overpriced by the market should the re-application of the blinkers work tonight.
