Yesterday’s Review

0.75pt e/way Kyrus Dragon (107) – The selection recorded the same time as when he finished second behind Aurora Lady. Unfortunately, three of the four horses that finished ahead of him recorded career best efforts on the clock, Eternal Fortune (110) ex-Nigel Tinkler trained having his first try over the six furlongs, the favourite Spicy Gold (109), and Young Arrow (108) who recorded the fastest final sectional. His lack of early pace looks to be his main problem as his final two sectionals were very similar to the favourite’s who landed 0.20 seconds ahead of him at the end of the first sectional and basically stayed there.

1pt win Drumstick (97) – The gamble of the race from 6/1 the night before into 7/4 favourite at the off, raced keenly early on and when asked for an effort in the home straight went backwards. Looks to need others to do the work for him going forward. The winner Monopolise (104) won well having raced more forward than he normally does.

Today’s Advice

Specified (8f Hcap) – This three-year-old filly looked a little unlucky not to finish closer last time out at Wolverhampton over the extended seven furlongs. She raced keenly in rear that day before finding trouble down the outside in a race won well by Blue Seeker. The step up to the mile for tonight’s (7.00) Chelmsford looks to suit her running style, and a positive draw in stall four should help with plenty of her rivals drawn on the wide outside. She looks the right price for a sporting interest in today’s market.
