0.75pt e/way Martin Spirit (-) The selection looked to be putting forward a serious challenge three furlongs out but weakened inside the final furlong into fourth place. It was a disappointing effort and the Adam West stable haven’t been firing on all cylinders this year.

Today’s Advice

Unplugged (10f 42y Hcap) – This eight-year-old caught the eye last time out at Redcar over ten furlongs when not getting the clearest of runs in the home straight before finishing well. His course form reads 4-3-4, and he recorded a (105) speed figure under the welter burden of nine stone thirteen pounds over the extended twelve furlongs when last seen at this track behind King Of The Plains. We will be hoping for a decent pace to aim at for today’s (4.58) Newcastle from prominent racers Bear Force One and Celtic Warrior, as he likes to be held up. He looks the right price for a sporting interest at a track he usually performs well at.

Executive Decision (7f Hcap) – This Jamie Osborne trained filly has been keeping on at the finish in six furlong races lately, and has looked like a step up in trip may be worth exploring for today’s (5.03) Leicester. While it may seem she has little form at today’s trip with an unplaced finish when last seen trying this distance, that was in a higher grade and she recorded a career best (111) speed figure that day behind Poet Master (who has since won a Group 2 race). Her latest effort on Heavy going under ten stone at Salisbury puts her up there with today’s rival’s best efforts on the clock. She can be difficult to catch right as she can race keenly, so we will be hoping for a solid pace to aim at from prominent racers Transitioning and It Just Takes Time.

Astronomica (8f 53y Hcap) – This soft ground course and distance winner looks to have conditions to suit for today’s (5.35) Leicester with the ground described as Heavy. She performed adequately from the rear last time out at Lingfield in a slowly run race following an eighty seven day break, and her form with Andromeda’s Kingdom at Nottingham in June would see her in the mix for today’s contest. She looks held by Marsh Benham on her fourth place finish at Windsor on Heavy ground last season, and while that rival won nicely last time out, he looks like he is struggling for consistency at the moment.
