Today’s Advice
WUNDERSCHON (8f 30y Mdn) – Short price favourite for today’s (1.40) Punchestown, Exceptionally, kept on well over the mile at the Curragh in a Group 3 contest behind Sea Of Rain last month. Held up in rear she got there in her own time to eventually finish in fourth place beaten 2.5 lengths. A big unit, she has improved on the clock with each of her four races this season and short price backers should get a decent run for their money.
I prefer the selection at value odds who has a similar running style and kept on well over the extended 7f at Roscommon last time out, in a hot Median Series race on the clock, behind South Dakota and Joga Bonita. The step up to the mile should bring about improvement and it should be noted that the stable won with another of their two year old fillies, Belle of The Ball, following a 15 day break at Cork back in May. Stable jockey Shane Foley takes the ride, fresh from his Irish Champion Stakes victory at the weekend, and the selection should be competitive – providing she can back up her latest performance.
