Yesterday’s Review
0.75py e/way Coconut Bay (88) – The selection weakened quickly in the home straight after getting involved in a pace duel with True Nation. They both finished last and second last. A vet’s examination revealed that the mare had muchus in her trachea.
1pt e/way War Chant – Non Runner.
1pt e/way Expert Witness (101) – The ground had started to deteriorate by the time this race was run with seven millimetres having fallen. George Rooke’s mount disappointed slightly on the clock considering he had recorded a (105) speed figure carrying nine stone nine pounds on similar ground at Yarmouth in May. The short priced winner God Of Fire (105) continues to show improved form for his connections, who have shown in the past what they can achieve with horses acquired from other stables. Result 2nd 15/2, 7/1 adv…11/2 SP.
Today’s Advice
Galician Girl (8f 30y Hcap) – This three-year-old filly did this column a favour when winning at Dundalk in March at 7/1. She has disappointed a bit since then, and she has only shown herself to be back in some sort of form recently. A fifth place finish at Down Royal last time out when recording a (101) speed figure beaten just two lengths over the extended ten furlong trip was a decent effort which reads well in the context of tonight’s (6.15) Killarney. A repeat of that performance should see her challenging for the win tonight, and it looks like her trainer Ado McGuinness has found the right race for her looking at the form of her opposition. An unexposed type like With Annie Luck could have improved since we last seen her over two hundred and fourty two days ago, but I will be happy to have a small interest in the form horse in the race.
