Today’s Advice
TRIBAL RHYTHM (8f 113y Hcap) – This five-year-old caught the eye last time out at Bath under Rossa Ryan when not getting a clear run over two furlongs out, in a slowly run race, before finishing well up the hill to go down by under a length to Law Supreme. The handicapper has put him up a pound which leaves him a similar amount above his mark for today’s (4.58) Epsom as when he won this race last year. Champion jockey Oisin Murphy has been booked for the ride and everything looks in place for another solid performance.
The faster the pace the better for his chances and with front runners Tronido and Amused in the race a truly run race should be on the cards. The price is as it should be but he still looks worth a sporting interest for trainer Denis Coakley who is fine form at the moment with a winner at Bath yesterday with Party Island.
MY HIGHNESS (8f Group 1) – This Andre Fabre trained filly broke the clock last year at Deauville over 7f when finishing a comfortable length and a quarter ahead of Fitzella in the Group 2 Prix Du Calvados. She raced in the rear on that occasion and came through over two furlongs from home before running on well at the finish under Cristian Demuro. The (114) timefigure was very strong and she has been hovering at a bigger double figure price over the winter while followers have been waiting for her trainer to commit to the 1000 Guineas at Newmarket. Positive reviews have been forthcoming from the master trainer and he has spoken positively regarding a desire to run in the race.
Her return over the same course and distance at Deauville three weeks ago when she finished runner-up to Showna may have appeared a shade disappointing but her trainer will have been using that race as a stepping stone for Sunday’s big race. She raced prominently and disputed the lead over a furlong from home before keeping on at the finish. Her trainer used a similar approach when winning the 2014 contest with Miss France who stepped up on her sixth place finish at Maisons-Laffite the month before. The five day declaration stage will be announced at midday today and Godolphin’s French representative Louise Bernard has confirmed that it is all systems go for Sunday’s (3.35) Newmarket race following a nice piece of work on Monday.
She looks worth a sporting interest at the prices still available to build on her promising two-year-old performance from last season despite the strong representation from the Aidan O’Brien stable.
