Yesterday’s Review
0.5pt e/way Manhattan Dandy (91) – Keithen Kennedy’s mount failed to match his two most recent efforts on a soft surface. He looked like he had to use up too much energy early on to get the lead with the speedometer hitting 39mph, and he also had competition for that lead from The Foghorn. He looks a difficult one to catch for the win.
0.5pt e/way Bhean Saibhre (93) – A remarkable performance from the selection who struggled to hold her early position for a lot of the race before becoming well detached in last from the opposition. Just as the dockets were about to be thrown in the bin she started to make headway entering the home straight before passing eleven horses on her way to fourth place. If she can travel more sweetly in the future there could be a little race in her. Result 4th 28/1 adv…33/1 SP.
Today’s Advice
Manhattan Chute (7f Mdn) – The (2.10) Gowran Park today looks one of those races where a lot of questions are still to be answered. The selection showed improved form last time out at Naas over just short of six furlongs wearing first time cheekpieces. On that occasion he need a very persuasive ride early on before finishing well behind Heaven’s Gate in sixth place beaten just over four lengths. The step up in trip looked needed that day, and although the cheekpieces are left off today he looks worth a small interest at the prices. The opposition looks to have their own question marks too, as one would expect in most maiden races.
