Today’s Advice

JASMINE AFFANALIS (8f Hcap) – This four-year-old mare has been fairly consistent on turf with a win and two runner-up finishes from her last four races. She can be a bit tricky to get her head in front as she can race keenly and has been wearing a hood in most of her races. Connections left the hood off last time out over the mile at Killarney and she looked very unlucky not to get her head in front on the line just failing by a short head to Nibras Rainbow. Usually a midfield runner, it remains to be seen how she will be ridden from a decent draw in stall three for tonight’s (6.50) Limerick. A course and distance second last July to recent winner Spanish Temptress looks solid form in the context of tonight’s race and providing she can get a clear enough run through she should put in another good showing.

MARENGO STORM (6f Hcap) – This three-year-old returns to the scene of his best career performance when he travelled very well in behind recent winner Sargent Dennis before coming home a cosy 2.75 lengths clear at the line when recording a (109) timefigure. A reproduction of that should see him finish ahead of tonight’s rivals. He looked unlucky last time out over 6f at Windsor when not getting a clear run through on more than one occasion before finishing in second place behind Bintola. He has been well found by the market for tonight’s (7.10) Kempton but with a decent bit of pace on up front tonight he looks the one they all have to beat.
