Today’s Advice

MEOWTH (6f Hcap) – This five-year-old has been performing consistently his last three races over course and distance with a win and two second place finishes. He has bumped into Amazing Kid the last twice and luckily that one runs in the other division of this race. The handicapper has left him alone for today’s (1.45) Happy Valley following his latest half length second and everything looks in place for another solid performance from stall five with top jockey Hugh Bowman booked for the ride.

BEAU ARMY (7f Hcap) – This three-year-old holds the top timefigure (101) of today’s field for the (3.38) Dundalk which I awarded her for her latest course and distance win. On that occasion she raced in touch of the leaders before gradually getting on top inside the final furlong to win by a cosy half length. She has started her career on a lowly mark and although the handicapper has put her up 7lbs she looks like she is going the right way for a trainer that can put together a sequence of wins for improving types.

There isn’t much pace on other than Boston Benjamin so her draw in stall two should allow her to get an early jump on some of her more held up rivals. Rory Cleary takes the ride again and although the price has contracted early this morning I am happy to have a small interest nevertheless.
