Today’s Advice

Ivasecret (8f Hcap) – This six-year-old has found a new lease of life this year since being switched from John Joseph Hanlon to Ian Williams. His past career wins were achieved racing over six and seven furlongs, and included one from a handicap mark as high as 82. As a smooth traveller, he has caught the eye in the past but sometimes couldn’t find as much as promised at the business end of races. Ian has done a fabulous job with the horse since acquired, and he has even been able to stretch him out to a mile with a win and two seconds over this new distance. His first attempt at the trip from a handicap mark of 65 resulted in a win over course and distance in February. The key to the horse is having a decent pace to aim at as he can race keenly early on throughout his races. He ran a solid race last time out over course and distance when finishing best off a slow pace to finish second behind Kynsa. The handicapper has left him on the same mark for today’s (5.05) Kempton, which is another apprentice race. Ryan Kavanagh takes the ride again, and hopefully he can go one place better today. The main danger looks to be current favourite Stockpyle who may get his own way out in front. Miss Dolly Rocker is another prominent racer who has led in the past, and it would help our cause if she raced more forwardly today.
