Today’s Advice

DAN ATTACK/FREE PONY (6f Hcap) – The (1.05) Happy Valley looks an interesting contest with a few runners that we have landed on in the past. Current short price favourite Rewarding Buddy has finished runner-up in his two latest outings. An eight race maiden the four-year-old has seen his rating rise five pounds without getting his head in front. He disappointed back in November when we were on but has performed with credit more recently. He is well drawn to go close again today but he looks one that we can let win at the prices on offer.

Dan Attack is returning from a 49 day break but it should be noted that he won a barrier trial well at the end of December. He has seen his handicap mark rise 13lbs since joining the Doug Whyte stable last June with two wins over course and distance. His latest form and timefigues have indicated that the handicapper has yet to get to grips with him, and he looks to be one of the more progressive types in today’s field.

It may also pay to forgive Free Pony his latest performance as he was drawn wide out in stall 12 and didn’t enjoy being restrained right out the back in a slowly run race. Today’s contest looks to have plenty of pace signed on with past front-runners Winning Method, Awesome Treasure, Thousand Cups, Sky Cap and Same To You in attendance. A kinder draw in stall 5 should see a much better performance today.
