STRAIGHT TO GLORY (6f Hcap) – Connections of Somelovefromabove, the short price favourite for today’s (3.50) Happy Valley, found the winning key once again with the application of eye shields for the son of Lonhro back in February and he backed that up with another victory from a 7lb higher mark last month. The handicapper has bumped him up another 8lbs but considering he hasn’t been seen for five weeks I am wondering if it’s a different type of weight we should be looking at. The four-year-old weighed in at 1,173lbs for his last race and is a full 30lbs heavier on the scale for today’s contest. Either he has thrived exceptionally well since or he might improve for today’s race. Either way I can let him win at today’s price.

The selection put up a career best (108) timefigure on the clock last time out and has largely been consistent of late with two wins and a second place finish from his last three races. He has drawn stall seven today and we will be hoping Harry Bentley (who is on board again) can find a nice position for the prominent racer. The handicapper has raised him a pound for his latest effort and with other prominent racer Amazing Kid drawn wide out in stall twelve the selection should have the race run to suit if he can slot in nicely.
