1pt e/way Startling (96) – It looked like the first-time cheekpieces made very little difference to the selection who kept on for third in a race dominated by the all the way winner Jeans Maite (99). Result 3rd 10/3, 3/1 adv…7/2 SP.
Today’s Advice
TACTICAL COMMAND (6f Hcap) – This five-year-old should appreciate being better drawn for today’s (2.10) Happy Valley having started from the outside the last twice over course and distance. He has won his last two races from single figure draws at this venue, and was noted being denied a clear run last time out from the rear behind Hayday.
Jockey Alexis Badel was on board for those two wins, and takes the ride again today. He can be quick away from the stalls and keen early, so we will be hoping Alexis can get him settled in behind the pace, and strike down the outside of runners in the home straight.
Short priced favourite Young Arrow has the strongest form on offer, and I am hoping that he might be a little bit rusty after a 49 day break. With the next best in the betting My Day My Way drawn out wide again in stall twelve, everything looks set up for a decent performance from the selection.
