Today’s Advice

WOLF’S GALLOP (5f Nursery) – With the ground advertised as Soft (Heavy in places) at Nottingham today, the ability to handle conditions will be at the top of the list. The selection is still a maiden after six races but has been steadily improving on the clock when seen on turf. Last time out on a soft surface at Ffos Las he recorded a career best (106) timefigure behind the Ralph Beckett trained Rhodes Runner. Having been drawn widest of all he did well to make his way across to the leaders. He ultimately found the winner just under 2 lengths too strong, despite not getting the clearest of runs over a furlong from home.

A reproduction of that effort will see him difficult to beat for today’s (12.46) Nottingham as the form has already been franked by the third place finisher Perigord Noir. The Sergei Prokofiev gelding sits atop today’s Timefigure chart based on that last effort. Connections have reached for the first-time cheekpieces, and they should help keep him focused on the task in hand. Kieran O’Neill retains the ride and everything looks in place for another solid performance.
