Today’s Advice
Storm The Dug (7f 15y Mdn) – The selection stayed on nicely behind Feeraas over course and distance last time out, and that effort tops the clock for today’s (1.05) Musselburgh. On that occasion he was slowly away from his wide draw before making headway in the straight to finish three quarters of a length behind in third place while recording a (102) speed figure. He has a slightly better draw today in stall six, and hopefully prominent racer Rex Carver can ensure a decent enough pace for him to aim at. He looks the right price for an each way interest.
Gardone (10f 150y Hcap) – This Emmet McNamara trained four-year-old’s latest two efforts over course and distance have shown that he looks well handicapped from marks in the fifties at the moment. On both occasions he has been held up and made nice headway in the home straight to record solid figures for the grade finishing first and second respectively in the process. The application of blnkers appears to have made a difference to him, and if connections have him ready to race after a fourty seven day break he looks the one to beat in today’s (4.45) Dundalk.
Salaamaat (6f Hcap) – The selection has shown gradual improvement on the clock since her second place finish behind Profitman at Wolverhampton back in March. She has been switched from the Rae Guest stable to Michael Attwater’s recently having been purchased for just 3,800gns. A keen racer she has looked like a drop back to sprinting might suit her having been headed inside the final furlong after leading over the extended six furlongs at Brighton. Tonight’s (6.00) Kempton might be a fact finding mission for connections following a one hundred and seven day layoff, but she looks the right price for a speculative interest considering the strength of tonight’s opposition.
