Yesterday’s Review
0.75pt e/way Hakuna Babe – When your selection runs a nice race lto (101) all you can hope for is a reproduction of that effort or even a step forward with luck. In this case the filly took a step backward on the clock recording a time 4L slower than Yarmouth. The winning time was very strong – High Spirited (108).
Today’s Advice
Celtic Revival (13f 155y Handicap) A step up in trip for Eddie Lynam’s likeable gelding in the last race at Gowran Park (8.10). While this is a furlong and a half outside his normal range of 12f his last effort was very good over a trip that was too short from a bad draw. With a nice berth in stall (2) and over a distance he will feel more comfortable it may be worth chancing that he will last out the extra distance at the prices on offer.
All Dunn (6f 210y Handicap) Clockwatchers will have been noticing Jamie Osborne’s 3-y-o gelding during the All-Weather season recording some decent efforts while notching up three wins. It is his last two performances though that have seen him progress even further. From a bad draw he got closest to an impressive winner at Southwell over 7f on his latest effort while recording a (99) speed figure. His dam has won on Turf at undulating tracks like Pontefract and Newmarket in the past. The opposition look so poor on the clock an interest shoud be taken.
Mudlahhim (7f 36y Handicap) Scott Dixon’s gelding has been dropping down the handicap sharply since his last win from a mark of (84) back in January 2022. Over tonight’s C/D he recorded a very decent (105) while trying to make all lto. With no pace pressure tonight a reproduction of that effort will make him difficult to pass.
